So the Plop has been noticeably aloof for the last week because we were at the X Games with clients. I am almost overwhelmed at the thought of updated the last week so I have decided to puss out a bit. I twittered extensively about my week and if you would follow me (@MattRPRT) you would have been able to been there with me every step of the way. I am going to implore you, if you give a crap, to add me and check my tweets over the last week to see what went down with our clients Curren Caples, Josh Hansen and Mark Appleyard.
It was a good week with many ups and downs. Hansen and Caples both killed their qualifiers and Apples advanced as well. Finals were crazy and some bad luck (a broken zipper for Hansen and a missed trick on the last, and almost perfect, run for Caples) kept our guys from getting the medals they deserved but all in all it was awesome. Hansen defended his title showing the world why he is a top contender for the title next year...he was far and above the best guy on the track during Moto X. His buckle on his pants broke on the 12th lap causing a hiccup that dropped his 6 second lead into a bronze finish. Caples became a worldwide phenom skating with grace and beating out 16 of the top skaters in the world. This kid is going to be a mega star in the near future.
So, again if you want more, add me on Twitter...but here are some pics to whet your appetite a bit.
The media LOVE this kid...Curren was a Google and Twitter sensation during X Games with Sal Masakela and Tony Hawk putting him on blast!
Surprise last minute...Pat Milbery gets hired by Ford to host their Fiesta Track in the X Games village.
Appleyard about to make the transfer on the broken tea cups on the street course.
Josh Hansen (@joshhansen100) killed it in practice, killed it in the qualifier round with a first and killed it in the final (which he should have won if it weren't for a defective pants buckle)
Hanny showing his style in the Best Whip event.
Curren makes it look so smooth and easy and he is only 14. His style on and off the park were spot on. The biggest story in skateboarding is about to break!
